World Book Day in Red Class
March 2024
Yesterday, we had a brilliant day celebrating World Book Day. Lots of us came dressed in our favourite costumes and we spent the day reading our favourite stories. In the morning, the children enjoyed sharing big book and reading with adults. After Snack we created our own book 'Stickman .. Beware of Red Class!', the children had lots of fun using Stickman as different objects or toys, for images in our story. In the afternoon, Jen and Elly ( Teachers in Black and White) came to share their favourite stories with us! Please check Dojo, for lots of lovely images!
Healthy Happy Week
February 2024
This week, we have enjoyed some extra exciting activities for Healthy, Happy Week. We have had a visit from Coram Life, where we looked at our bodies and how we can keep ourselves healthy. Red Class loved meeting Gerald the Giraffe! We used some of this learning, to draw around ourselves and name out main functions and body parts in Science. Red Class have also had a visit from the Circus, we have enjoyed spinning plates and flower sticks. We have also enjoyed Pancake and Fruit tasting and riding the bikes. We have had a fantastic week!
Music and Maths
February 2024
In Red Class, we have enjoyed having Paul from Live Music Now! in class. We have been using different instruments to help find the beat to 'three little birds' and following instructions of when to play. The children have enjoyed working with Paul and got very excited this week, when he came in with new instruments. In Maths, we have been exploring capacity and sorting when containers are 'full' or 'empty'. We have used lentils and rice to explore different capacities.
Our first cooking session
October 2023
Red Class have been following a recipe to make a sandwich. The class loved choosing their bread; brown or white, and then choosing their filling. We all had a turn at grating, chopping, buttering and cutting- showing amazing independence! We then packed them away to take home.
