Summer Trip
July 2024
On Monday 1st of July White class visited Ponderosa Zoo—a small animal zoo near Huddersfield. We had a fantastic time looking at the different animals. We saw lots of different and unusual animals including otters, porcupines, meerkats, monkeys, snakes, tarantulas, turtles and reindeer. We spent some time on the Big Ship play park, climbing aboard and exploring. We played in the sand and had fun hiding inside the big tyres. We also spent time on the park really enjoying going up and down the slides. White class had a very busy but a fun filled day.
In the Jungle
April 2024
White Class have been learning about different jungle animals and their habitats in Science. This week we learnt about the Red Howler Monkey, they are very loud and like to swing from the trees in the jungle. White Class made brown and green playdough and used their fine motor skills to roll and pinch to create some jungle trees.
Our Bodies
March 2024
White Class have been learning all about their bodies this half term.
They have been drawing around their bodies and labelling with pictures for eyes, nose, mouth and ears. We have been singing songs about our bodies and learning about our head, arms, and legs. Some of the children have been applying their learning to their play and engaging in mark making with chalk during outdoor play. Drawing around adults and peers and labelling their pictures with head, arms and legs.
White Class will soon been looking at bones and xrays and using ICT to support with this.
Topic - Light Up!
November 2023
The children in White Class have been learning about light and how it works.
We have completed simple experiments, explored designs with light and been on a bus trip to B&Q to look at different kinds of lights and explored a range of switches.
White Class have enjoyed a sensory story linked to light and have made marks to create pictures of a night time woodland.
