Magical Musicals

Get ready to sing, sign, and shine every week in our brand-new Magical Musicals class!

Each week, we’ll explore a different exciting musical like Wicked, The Lion King, Matilda, and more! We'll use fun props, colourful costumes, and easy sign-along songs to help everyone join in. You'll meet new characters, learn their stories, and even act out your favourite scenes!

Whether you love to sing, dance, dress up, or just enjoy the music, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

November 2025

During enrichment in our magical musicals group this half term we are focusing on the musical ‘Wicked’.

We start off our lesson with a sing and sign session. We choose a song from Wicked and watch a video on the IWB to try and copy some of the signs from the song. This week we have listened to ‘Defying gravity’, which all the children really enjoyed.

Each week we choose a different character from the musical, then our activities are linked to them. This week our focus was Elphaba. We introduced the character looking at pictures and listening to her sing. As Elphaba has green skin we linked our activities to everything green.

We then move into our groups and focus on sensory activities linked to each musical. This week we made the Emerald city out of green Duplo. We used green collage materials to make a picture, feeling the different textures as we glued them to our green paper. We also made green shaving foam and pretended to make a spell with our wands.
