Play Skills
We will explore and develop our play skills through a range of structured and engaging activities. Using a range of block play (Lego, Duplo, wooden blocks) each week, we will build and create, using our problem-solving, imagination and turn-taking skills. In small world play, we will use figures and settings to act out ideas, using our communication, storytelling and social interaction skills. We will also work on fine motor activities including jigsaws, building hand strength, coordination and perseverance. These activities promote creativity, cooperation, and independence, while providing opportunities for every child to develop their play and interaction skills at their own level.
November 2025
In our play skills sessions, we have been exploring a range of hands-on activities designed to support creativity, fine motor development, and imaginative play. Using Duplo bricks, we have practised building and problem-solving skills, while small world people have encouraged role-play, and some social interaction. We have also been working on fine motor control through threading activities, helping to strengthen hand–eye coordination. Together, these playful experiences support confidence, coordination, and developmental skills.
