Autumn Term
November 2025
In Juniper we have been working hard at settling into our new class and been practicing following our daily routines, to help us know what we are doing now and next. We have also been focusing on our expressive and receptive communication strategies, helping us to make choices, communicate our wants and needs and how we are feeling. This is helping us develop our independence.
In our Maths lessons we have been our fluency with numbers, counting forwards and developing our 1-1 correspondence. We have also enjoyed learning about patterns and sequences, and have been exploring money and exchanging it for things that we like to eat and play with. In English we have been exploring colour and light through a range of traditional tales from around the world and wide range of different activities.
Every Thursday we have been exploring the outdoors through Forest School. We have been learning across many areas of the curriculum and have enjoyed exploring how things grow and preparing foods that we can eat. We have also been able to enjoy a wide range of sensory experiences through play. We always look forward to every Thursday!
Settling In
October 2025
Juniper class has made a great start to the year, settling into a new class room with new children and new staff. The children have adapted well and we are working hard on establishing our daily routines and working on our independence and functional skills.
We are taking part in a wide range of activities across the curriculum, using lots of sensory approached to learning to help engage the children in direct learning for longer periods of time.
We have enjoyed Forest School every Thursday, learning in the outdoors. We have also enjoyed a broad sensory diet, accessing the light room, soft play and other facilities around the school.
We have been taking part in assemblies as a whole class and learning to transition around the school safely. We are very excited about the year ahead and all the wonderful activities and themes we will get to explore.
