Our Learning
Autumn 2
Life Skills Focus – Building Independence This Term
This term, the children have been fully engaged in developing their Life Skills, with a special focus on becoming more independent in getting dressed. Through consistent practice, repetition, and lots of encouragement, they have learned to manage zips, jumpers, and tricky sleeves with growing confidence.
It has been inspiring to see their determination each week—whether they were learning to turn clothes the right way round, remembering the correct order to put things on, or celebrating the moment they managed a new step all by themselves. Their pride in their achievements has been truly heart-warming.
Watching their progress has been an absolute pleasure. You should be incredibly proud of every single one of them; their hard work is shining through in everything they do.
Settling In
October 2025
We’ve had an amazing start to the new school year in Maple Class! All the children have settled in really well and are forming great friendships and routines. It’s wonderful to see how confident and happy they are as they begin to explore new learning opportunities.
This term, our main focus has been on developing important life skills that support the children’s independence and well-being. We have been learning about personal hygiene, including brushing our teeth, wiping our faces, washing our hair, and washing our hands. Each of these skills was the focus for a full week, allowing us to practice repeatedly and build familiarity and confidence.
The children have shown fantastic progress—many are now able to take part in these routines more independently and with enthusiasm. We’ve incorporated songs, visual aids, and hands-on activities to make learning fun and engaging. It’s been wonderful to watch their skills develop over the weeks.
I’ve included some photos to give you a glimpse of our lessons and to celebrate all the achievements. We’re so proud of how hard the children have worked!
Well done, Maple Class — keep up the great work!
